What to Expect at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018

This September, all eyes will be focused on Monaco as the principality plays host to the 28th edition of the Monaco Yacht Show.

The yachting industry’s flagship event, the Monaco Yacht Show is an ultimate showcase for yacht designers, builders and brokers from all over the world. The event is set against the glittering backdrop of Port Hercules and the show will be held from the 26-29th September – it promises to be an event to remember.

Following a major restructuring of the Quai des Etats-Unis, MYS 2018 will have a new layout including an impressive 240m jetty on the main quay. To improve show access, UK-based organisers Informa Exhibitions have organised multiple shuttle services for visitors to easily move between the northern and southern docks. With buses, boats and electric golf buggies on hand to get around the principality, plus courtesy cars and a helicopter shuttle service available for guests arriving from the Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, it’s never been so easy to visit MYS.

Superyacht Lifestyle

Covering all aspects of the superyacht lifestyle, MYS 2018 will bring together over 500 international exhibitors during the 4-day show. The world’s most respected shipyards, award-winning interior designers, luxury suppliers and top international brokerage houses will all be represented at the show. As always, MYS will be the perfect opportunity to meet with key players from the yachting industry and discover all the latest trends for next season.

Stunning Superyachts on Display

The 2018 edition of the show will see over 100 stunning superyachts from the finest shipyards in the world on display in the principality. Around 120 unique luxury superyachts will be showcased along the northern and southern docks of Port Hercules including the very latest sail, motor and explorer yachts. Around 45 of the boats on display will be making their worldwide debut here in Monaco this year and individual viewings and sea trials will be available upon reservation.

The dazzling 51-metre superyacht Irisha will be attending MYS 2018. Launched in May 2018, custom-built Irisha will be presented at MYS by Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts in partnership with SuperYachtsMonaco. Featuring state-of-the-art design and a versatile interior layout, Irisha’s signature exterior lines, sleek glass cockpit and distinctive blue colour scheme will ensure she stands out from the crowd in Monaco this September.

When it comes to the superyacht lifestyle, the Quai Antoine 1er will be the place to find a wide variety of lifestyle companies including the ultra-modern Starboard Lounge. With exhibitors ranging from high-tech entertainment systems to luxury furnishings, the spacious hall will also play host to the MYS Press and Business centres in addition to a stylish restaurant and lounge bar with a terrace overlooking the central pontoons.

Show Highlights includes Supercars

One of the highlights of the superyacht lifestyle zone will undoubtedly be the ‘Car Deck’. This thrilling exhibition will showcase 15 of the very best high-performance super cars. Featuring prestige vehicles from the most iconic automobile companies in the world, this is where to find the most luxurious ride from your private jet to your superyacht. The ultimate setting for an unforgettable test drive, MYS 2018 will be the ideal place to combine your passion for fast cars and powerful superyachts.

Tenders & Toys

Another popular exhibition with visitors will also be the Tenders & Toys zone at MYS 2018. The exhibition will showcase 15 tenders and onboard water toys along the dock, with 20 additional tenders on display in the water over at the Quai Jarlin. With everything from jetpacks to personal submarines on offer at this year’s show, the Tenders & Toys zone is definitely where to find next season’s must-have leisure equipment.

Luxury Manufacturers and Service Providers

If you’re looking for luxury manufacturers and service providers during the show, make sure you don’t miss the Parvis Piscine tent. This spacious hall will host many leading international brands in addition to the chic Upper Deck Lounge. Open from 10am to 6.30pm, the Upper Deck will offer a variety of services including an exclusive Lanson Champagne Bar for drinks with business associates and friends. The Upper Deck will also be the location of the MYS restaurant hosted in conjunction with the Fairmont Hotel Monte Carlo, plus a Lounge area with complimentary WIFI for visitors.

Social Events

Monaco is also the setting for many of the best social events, product launches and parties in the superyacht calendar. Following the success of the MYS Inaugural Gala Party in 2017, MYS 2018 will kick off with a fabulous black-tie dinner and awards ceremony. Awards will be presented to the shipyards and designers who have produced the best interior and exterior yacht designs during the year and a prestigious MYS award will also be presented to the finest superyacht of 2018.

Monaco Yacht Summit

One of several new initiatives planned for this year’s show, the Monaco Yacht Summit is sure to be a popular event during MYS 2018. Created specifically for new superyacht purchasers and charterers, this exclusive event will be held in the week before the official opening of the show. Participants will take part in a series of 5 table-talks led by leaders and representatives from the superyacht industry. Designed to give first-time yacht buyers information about all aspects of purchasing or chartering a superyacht, places for the summit can be reserved upon application to the MYS concierge service.

With so much on offer, the 2018 edition of MYS promises to be the best yet. With more focus on luxury lifestyle brands, an extended shuttle transportation system and an updated concierge service, visitors can look forward to a premium show experience.
