Kaigai is a Tokyo-based wine auction house and wholesale distributor of rare and fine wines.
The company was part of a larger organisation as a wine division since 1964 and became a stand-alone company to focus on the fine and rare wines since 1991. It is one of the leading wine auction house in Japan with an extensive track record as a wine distributor and auction house. The company holds auctions twice per year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. Kaigai Fine Wine Asia will also be hosting a series of wine dinners and unique experiences for the discerning individual.
Kaigai Fine Wine Asia was recently acquired by a consortium of Asia-based investors. The company will then be under the management of Tokyo-based Mr. Tetsutaro Muraki, who will serve as President and CEO, and Hong Kong / Singapore based Mr. Kevin Cheng, who will be managing the business for Asia ex-Japan.
This change will see the 26-year old Japanese auction house expanding its auction and distribution business both within Japan and across the broader Asia Pacific market, with a re-curated portfolio to include a wider range of products and the launch of a lifestyle
platform.
The auction house recently held its 21st Fine Wine Auction on October 9th 2017, at the ANA Intercontinental Hotel in Tokyo, with almost 450 lots sold. The company will be hosting two fine wine auctions in 2018, as well as a number of lifestyle events. kaigaiasia.jp
