ISA Yachts Introduces Superyacht ROUTE 66
Italian superyacht manufacturer ISA Yachts has made a name for itself as the builder of sporty yachts since the company was founded in 2001.
However, projects such as M/Y YARA 44 and the recently announced M/Y ROUTE 66 has seen the company focusing on optimising the outdoor space of the yacht. This was also seen in ISA Yachts’ M/Y YARA 44, which maximises outdoor living by including a sliding door that allows the lounge area to either be enclosed or open to add additional space to the exterior of the vessel.
The latest project, which was announced at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2014, has garnered a lot of attention among those in the yachting industry and potential buyers alike. While the vessel will not be ready until 2017, there are plenty of features that will make M/Y ROUTE 66 stand out and attract potential buyers.
Superyacht manufacturers ISA Yachts has named the latest superyacht project after the infamous road which runs from Illinois in the East to California in the West of the USA. The vessel, designed by Andrea Vallicelli, has begun her construction in the ISA Yachts’ Italian shipyard in Ancona.
About M/Y ROUTE 66
She comprises of four decks in total, with the design based with outdoor space firmly in mind, as the company feels that space on yachts has been lost to the interior in recent years.
The vessel has thus already been christened an ‘outdoorsy’ yacht by some in the yachting press and it will be perfect for the type of owner who likes to spend time on deck. There is certainly a great correlation between the interior and exterior.
Inspired Design
As the name suggests, the yacht is 66 metres in length (66.40 in total) and has a beam of 11 metres, ensuring it has a sleek and streamlined look, a look that has become ISA Yachts’ trademark. ROUTE 66 has a range of 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 16 knots and a top speed of 18.5 knots, making it faster than many of its contemporaries and will be powered by twin caterpillar engines. The superyacht’s hull form has been inspired from the company’s Granturismo series The flush deck at the front of the vessel offers a helipad, whilst tenders will be stored below the helipad and in the lower deck beside the gym.
Explore the Interior
Moving onto the interior, ROUTE 66 offers room for up to 12 guests with five staterooms and the master suite. However, perhaps the most impressive detail in the interior of this new build yacht is the huge sensorial spa and sauna designed by Luxury Projects and which is offered in the beach club.
The interaction between indoor and outdoor is specifically highlighted on the main deck, where the salon has sliding doors, which if left open as intended, will create both an indoor and outdoor feel. Full-height side bulkhead glass windows allow natural light to enter the dining area and further emphasise the outdoors.
The delivery date on this full-displacement aluminium superyacht is Spring 2017, so there is plenty of time for interested buyers to add their personal touch to the decor.
