Harry Winston Metier D’Art Limited Edition Jeweled Timepiece for Her
The new chapter in the fascinating Métiers d’Art series by Harry Winston takes place in the historic city of Ravenna, renowned worldwide for its mosaics.
The art of mosaics is an ancient sculptural technique, that is made up of small pieces of coloured glass, clay, stone or other materials typically known as tesserae. The tesserae are then added to the adhesive surface to create a pattern. Widely used in ancient Greece and Rome, the art of mosaics flourished under the Byzantine Empire. Ravenna, the capital city of the Roman Empire in the 5th century, and then Byzantine Italy in the 8th century, introduced the technique of mosaic to unparalleled heights, producing masterpieces for the local walls and ceilings of early Christian monuments.

Finding fresh and innovative ways to animate timepiece dials is a genuine passion for Harry Winston, whose designers have turned to beautiful glass micromosaic for their newest Premier timepiece.
