The hotel opened in April 1925 at a pivotal time marking the Roaring Twenties; the days of Josephine Baker, Sydney Bechet and the Charleston.
This was a time of prosperity and a carefree attitude which at the time was drawing to Paris all the big names from the worlds of culture and fashion: Rochas, Balenciaga, Chanel, Schiaparelli, Picasso, Mondrian and Dali. Each of its 188 rooms, of which 92 are suites guests are greeted by spacious and light-filled rooms and suites which have undergone extensive refurbishment all decorated in classic eighteenth-century style. The rooms are beautifully appointed and richly decorated with great attention to detail through to the fabrics selected from the most prestigious companies and the prints, paintings and mirrors are all authentic, as reproductions are not allowed at Le Bristol, which is owned by a family of art collectors.
