About Francis Kurkdjian
Francis Kurkdjian is a perfumer and an artist; he possesses a desire to tell beautiful stories and a deep curiosity about people and raw materials. Always a risk taker, he took a path into perfume world paved with a vision, and over 20 years in the perfume industry he was first to open his bespoke fragrance atelier against the trend, including lending his talents in collaborations blending art and perfume creating gigantic olfactory installations in emblematic spaces, a thing of dreams, blended with ephemeral and spectacular perfumed performances. Another collaboration coincided with the reopening of the domain of Marie Antoinette in September 2006, providing occasion for the Château de Versailles to launch a perfume of the Queen. Francis Kurkdjian recreated this fragrance from authentic documents which described its original creation. The proceeds from the sale went to the purchase of the Queen’s travelling chest attributed to Jean-Henri Reisener. This perfume house and perfume maker represents freedom, of sensual and delicate perfectionism. Guided by enchanting yet precise codes of purity sophistication elegance timelessness inspiration and the boldness of a classicism reinvented.
