Experience Aotearoa – the Land of the Long White Cloud aboard M/Y Sea Breeze III

There has never been a better time to discover why New Zealand cruising grounds have luxury yachters so excited ahead of America’s Cup!

The recently refitted classic motor yacht SEA BREEZE III is one of the region’s most coveted charter vessels ready to turn your week-long trip with friends or treat for the family into a dream come true.

This beautifully refitted and maintained 30m/100ft craft from 1976 boasts plenty of space on board for an extended family or group of friends, with two lounges available so that those who want to enjoy an evening of cocktails and smooth Jazz can relax as much as they please while those seeking a quiet corner can curl up with a book within the atmospheric wood-panelled interiors.

Classic accents can be found inside and out, however, the entertainment systems are anything but last century: A widescreen HD TV has been installed in the main salon for guests to enjoy from the sofas after getting drinks from the cocktail bar. When you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply want some extravagance, your onboard chef will prepare a delectable multi-course meal for the whole group. The separate formal dining area adds further intimacy to the gathering, or as an alternative, the group can dine alfresco for more time spent surrounded by New Zealand’s wild and dramatic landscapes.

The exterior living spaces have received just as much attention during the refit, and there are broad sunbeds along the foredeck to enjoy the views and the sunshine, or guests can continue the conversation on the sundeck seating, shaded by the bimini. The aft section is perfect for morning yoga in the fresh air, where you can take in the scenery of a new location every day.

The accommodation on board sleeps six guests over three en-suite cabins, consisting of a Master suite and two twin cabins.

Onboard is a stellar crew of five ready to look after the children or prepare a favourite treat at a moment’s notice, giving you more time to unwind in the sunshine and explore everything these stunning coastal locations have to offer.

There are few countries in the world able to offer such diverse charter grounds all within such a short cruising distance: The tip of the north island enjoys sub-tropical temperatures and the pale sand beaches will surely tempt you off the boat and through the clear blue waters. Dolphins, whales and turtles have all been spotted in the seas, and in certain locations, it’s possible to spot little blue penguins or do diving with manta rays and colourful nudibranchs.

Auckland is an excellent place to begin your week-long yacht charter and the city has a great selection of luxury goods and boutiques to pick up some new outfits and accessories for your trip. Indulge in an evening at the theatre or the night clubs and bars, then disappear amongst the pristine islands of the Hauraki Gulf, many of which have superb walking tracks and vineyards for a memorable afternoon in the sunshine.

New Zealand – known in Maori as Aotearoa – has a thriving arts culture and down in Wellington, there are myriad art galleries and museums to fill your day. Peter Jackson’s Weta Workshop will capture the interest of adults and children alike and you might spot a parrot from nearby Zealandia, the wildlife sanctuary.

The Abel Tasman region is another fantastic stop for water sports and natural wonders: Snorkel with local wildlife in shallow lagoons or go Scuba diving in the crystal clear waters for the experience of a lifetime. At night, find a quiet bay amongst the islands and wallow in the Jacuzzi with a cocktail from the bar. The heavens above will be crisp and clear away from the city lights.

Farther south the temperature is cooler but many will enjoy the fishing opportunities and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Fiordlands National Park. It’s possible to book a helicopter ride to see the glassy lakes and snow-capped peaks from the air, or guests can cruise down to the magnificent beaches of Stewart Island and see some of New Zealand’s incredible birds – including the kiwi – on the smaller Ulva Island.

Luxury yacht SEA BREEZE III is an impeccable luxury yacht charter choice for holidays in the South Pacific, perfectly suited to making cherished memories in the Land of the Long White Cloud.
