Innovative digital charter marketplace YOTHA launched its improved negotiation platform that allows yacht charterers and owners (or central agents) to speak directly. It also announces the launch of a range of new special offers on its array of charter yachts.
Digital negotiations have been available since the start of business, but this newest development has made the process simpler and more open, enabling both the owner (or central agent) and the charterer to make quicker, stress-free deals at rates that work well for them. Online price negotiation is something that no other platform does, rendering YOTHA unique. Usually in the travel industry, the consumer simply has to embrace the price offered to them, but YOTHA has balanced the playing field, opening a conversation to help each party achieve the best offer possible.
YOTHA was created with the goal of making the charter booking process simpler and more transparent for all concerned. The business sees its platform as a market necessity-helping yacht owners to increase their income; helping retail brokers find innovative options to suit their buyers, taking advantage of YOTHA ‘s global yachting expertise; and helping charterers find their dream yachts and negotiate at a price that suits them.
There is often some element of negotiation in any traditional charter booking. YOTHA founder Philippe Bacou wanted to create an online space where these discussions could take place directly, while at the same time maintaining the full protection and privacy of each group. With YOTHA, the charterer is able to compromise on anything but VAT, with reduction limits set on what each yacht owner is comfortable with, and there is normally flexibility to accommodate the budgets of each charterer.
YOTHA plans to constantly improve the negotiation feature for its users, with more exciting developments in the pipeline.
New special offers on yacht charters
YOTHA special offers are a new and permanent feature of the negotiation platform, allowing yacht owners to easily promote their boats at a promotional price.
Free for the company’s network of owners, exchanging deals through YOTHA would greatly improve the exposure of the yacht, with each vessel shortlisted and featured on YOTHA’s social media platforms, on dedicated pages on the company’s website and in the company’s newsletter.
YOTHA planned to add this special offer feature to its site later in the year, but the current timing – with COVID-19 travel restrictions loosening – seemed to be the best time to launch it. Many charterers are currently searching for last-minute offers, while many owners are eager to improve their bookings.
YOTHA has outlined its new COVID-19 cancellation policy for vacations in a clear addendum, but has clarified that, between 15 days and 48 hours before the charter begins, if the situation is deemed to be Force Majeure due to COVID-19, the charterer will be completely reimbursed. If not, talks will take place between the charterer and the owner.
Youri Drouin, COO, said: “YOTHA is a win-win concept: charterers can enjoy really good deals while yacht owners still receive a higher % of the total price. Our commission system is the lowest on the market. Our platform also allows retail brokers to access a large fleet for free, meaning they can work securely with more yachts at the same time.
We offer the opportunity for central agents who join us to negotiate offers directly with YOTHA customers while benefiting from the full power of our digital strategy. Of course, the relationship between the central agent and their yacht owners is unchanged. They are free to use YOTHA Contract (accepted by Lloyds) or any other internationally recognised contract.”
