The Pangolin Collection Jewelry
by African Luxury Brand Patrick Mavros
This striking new jewellery collection is an exciting launch for the renowned African luxury brand, Patrick Mavros. Designed by Patrick’s son, Patrick Mavros Jnr, the collection has been created to raise awareness of the remarkably rare and highly endangered pangolin.
This powerful collection of 25 pieces features rings, necklaces, cuffs and buckles in sterling silver, 18 carat gold and 18 carat rose gold. And, for the first time in the brand’s history, it will also produce limited edition pieces set with pavé diamonds.
Ten per cent of all profits will be donated to the Tikki Hywood Trust, which works tirelessly to help protect the ground pangolin. Founded by Lisa Hywood in 1994 in memory of her late father Tikki Hywood, the trust strives to bring awareness of the plight of the pangolin, and operates a wildlife rescue centre in addition to rescue rehabilitation and release programmes throughout Zimbabwe.
About the Pangolin
Pangolins are the world’s most trafficked mammal, more than a million have been lost forever to poachers in the last decade – a camera-shy and little-known species; in fact many people who have spent their entire lives in the African wilderness have never caught sight of a pangolin. A critically endangered species, the pangolin is the only mammal to be entirely covered in scales and its extraordinary looks have provided the inspiration for each of the designs.Thankfully this September, the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species unanimously agreed on a total ban on all pangolin trade.
