Dining in the Mediterranean: Top Seaview Restaurants

Off the southern tip of Corsica, on the quiet little island of Cavallo, is the one and only hotel on this quiet island without cars.

Hotel des Pecheurs corsica

Hotel des Pecheurs

Hotel des Pecheurs, a 4 star luxury hotel, was designed by Roberto Valle and built in 1991. It is only a four-minute walk from the Port of Cavallo, where you can anchor your yacht.

The restaurant, with its breathtakingly beautiful panoramic views of the sea, serves an incredible combination of French and Italian cuisine. Of course, there is a fantastic selection of fish and seafood, caught locally, on the menu.

The hotel also features a spa and a swimming pool, in case it is somewhere that you wish to spend more time.

gecko beach club

The Gecko Beach Club, Formentera, Ibiza

Near to Ibiza, on the quieter island of Formentera, is this boutique hotel with its lively restaurant in a beautiful, relaxing location. To get to the hotel by private boat, you head to Playa de Migjorn, on the South coast of Formentera. The hotel is a bright white building, surrounded by palm and juniper trees. (The coordinates are Lat 38º 41’08 – N Long 1º 27’38). The Gecko Beach Club can cater for large parties, weddings or events easily. It also hosts its own popular nights. So, if you want to step off your charter yacht and head straight into the social scene, this is the restaurant for you.

i frati rossi corsica

I Frati Rossi, Sardinia

If you were looking for a local favourite, off the beaten track, with a spectacular sea view, this is the perfect restaurant for you. Anchoring at Port Cervo, this restaurant is 2km inland and uphill. Of course, it is possible to walk (if you are feeling energetic) but it’s easy to arrange a driver.

The restaurant serves the most scrumptious Italian homemade food; simple dishes, cooked to perfection. The panoramic view looks over the Gulf of Pevero and the Island of Tavolara. This romantic, intimate setting is elegant and beautiful, as well as a little rustic. The restaurant also has a rather good selection of wine.

Le Chevre dOr France corsica

Le Chevre d’Or, France

In this 5 star hotel, situated between Nice and Monaco in the heart of the medieval village, called Eze, is the two-Michelin star restaurant with the same name. The chef, Ronan Kervavrec, and his team take their cuisine extremely seriously and the results are magnificent. The menu focuses on local produce and serves a mix of French and international dishes.

The spectacular view of the sea and medieval town are almost magical.

Grotta Palazzese Polignano a Mane Italy

Grotta Palazzese, Polignano a Mane, Italy

If you are looking for a truly unique place to eat, whilst gazing at the aquamarine waters from a different angle than your yacht, then this place has to be one of the most original places that you could go.

Overlooking the Adriatic Sea, in Puglia, at the southern tip of Italy is the Grotta Palazzese and its Summer cave. This is a place that has entertained royalty and nobility since the 1700s. This vaulted limestone cavern has seen many glamorous parties of people and the spectacular and extraordinary sea view won’t fail to impress you.

You can choose to eat in the main restaurant or the new Sea Lounge, which is set higher in the cliffs and has an even more panoramic view. The menu is a feast of traditional Italian food. It uses local produce and changes seasonally. It’s worth noting that dress code is still formal, in that long trousers are required for men. This elegant environment wants to retain its sense of decadence in every way.

Anchoring your yacht in the relatively new marina, which lies below the cliff top village of Polignano di Mare could not be easier. It is also a very grandiose entrance to an incredible, historical and beautiful location.
