For the Love of Peonies

Peonies, have been used and cultivated in China for over 4000 years – few other garden plants go back as far.

This flower is held in high esteem an ancient times for medicinal purposes. The Greek physician Paian, gave the plant its name having used it to heal a wounded Heracles. Over time and ongoing, the plant has been mentioned medically through Greek, Roman times and the Middle Ages. It is still used today and has extended to other uses.
